We actively encourage new members and offer in-house training for beginners and diver training progression for already qualified divers. Divers from other organisations are more than welcome to join the club. It doesn’t matter who you trained with, if you’ve never dived in the UK before, or if you haven’t dived for a while – the doors are open to all.
We dive all year round, and training can be completed anytime throughout the year. Our members have a variety of diving interests (wrecks, tech, critters big and small, photography, etc.) to suit everybody’s needs.
Joining Street Sub Aqua Club could be a great way to maintain and develop your scuba skills. We have a great programme of diving trips, holidays and social events for you to get involved with, and we meet throughout the year.

BSAC provides a full Diver Training Programme that enables divers to progress through a framework of qualifications at their own pace.
The programme is designed to build confidence and self-reliance. Diving skills are taught progressively so that each new experience is built upon step by step.
There are a further five internationally recognised BSAC diver grades on completion of Ocean Diver and a multitude of Skill Development Courses available.
Advanced Ocean Diver sits between Ocean Diver and Sports Diver and is open to qualified BSAC Ocean Divers (or an equivalent other agency grade) who would like to progress their maximum diving depth to 30m. You will develop your existing Ocean Diver knowledge to support deeper diving.
If you already have some experience with an entry-level qualification (Ocean Diver or equivalent qualification such as PADI Open Water) and want to take your diving to the next level, Sports Diver is your next step. You will broaden your experience and learn techniques to prepare you for diving to a maximum of 35 metres.
This course is perfect for members who want to take a more active role in the club. As a Dive Leader, you become a valuable team member as you’ll be trained to help organise activities at the club. The training also prepares you to dive to depths of up to 50 metres in a range of challenging conditions.
If you want to manage challenging diving activities and expeditions in places you haven’t been before, then Advanced Diver is the course for you. Advanced Divers are role models in BSAC clubs, able to lead groups in new situations, which can be remote and require detailed planning backed up by a huge amount of experience.
Ready for the ultimate challenge? First Class Diver is BSAC’s top diving grade and reflects a high level of theoretical knowledge, organisational skills, personal diving ability and dive management skills. First Class Divers have gone on to lead groundbreaking missions worthy of national recognition.

It’s easy for qualified divers to dive with BSAC. It doesn’t matter who you trained with, if you’ve never dived in the UK before or if you haven’t dived for a while – the doors are open to all, with no crossover training necessary!
No matter your skill level, you can join any BSAC club without the need to retrain. Your current scuba diving certification has an equivalent BSAC qualification, and if you’d like to further your training, you simply continue from there. Check what your qualification is equivalent to with the BSAC equivalency chart.
We would need to verify your qualification and do a ‘check out’ dive in the pool, and maybe in open water, depending on when you last dived, to ensure both your safety and the safety of your buddy!
