BSAC Ocean Diver pool training night 18th March 2025

Waves Shape

Our pool training night marked the start of a new BSAC Ocean Diver course, with several new divers taking their first steps into the world of scuba. It was great to welcome everyone into the water and see the mix of excitement and nerves that always comes with a first proper training session.

The evening focused on the basics, from getting comfortable in the kit to practising simple skills in a calm, controlled environment. For many, it was their first time breathing underwater outside of a try-dive, and it was brilliant to see confidence grow as the session went on. Instructors and assistants were on hand throughout, guiding each trainee through the skills and making sure everyone felt supported and safe.

Pool training is a key part of the Ocean Diver course, giving people the chance to build core skills before heading into open water. It is where good habits are formed and where new divers really start to feel like divers.

It was a positive and encouraging start to the course and the beginning of what should be an exciting adventure for everyone involved. We are looking forward to seeing how the group progresses over the coming weeks as they continue their training and move closer to their first open water dives.
